Community Outreach

In order to expand iDentifi’s impact among the visually impaired community, and to improve it through user feedback, iDentifi has been presented to local, national and international organizations, hospitals and non-profits serving the visually impaired. These organizations have shared iDentifi amongst their members through email, social media, meetings, and conference calls.

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind is Canada’s largest charitable organization helping people with vision loss. It was founded in 1918 and belongs to the Braille Authority of North America.

The Canadian Council of the Blind  is a membership-based not-for-profit that brings together Canadians who are blind, deaf-blind or living with vision loss through chapters within their own local communities.

Braille Literacy Canada is a registered charity dedicated to the promotion of braille as the primary medium of literacy for those who are blind or visually impaired.

 

Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians (AEBC) is a national grassroots, peer support organization that comprises Canadians who are blind, deaf-blind or partially sighted.

The Canadian Helen Keller Centre is a training centre and resource hub dedicated to providing services and training for Canadians who are deaf-blind, visually impaired or deaf.

 

The American Council for the Blind is a national charitable organization in the United States. It strives to increase the independence, security, equality of opportunity, and quality of life for all blind Americans.

The American Foundation for the Blind is an American non-profit organization for people with vision loss. AFB's priorities include broadening access to technology and promoting independent living for visually impaired Americans

Perkins School for the Blind, in Watertown, Massachusetts, is the oldest school for the blind in the United States. It is an international leader in blindness services and assistive technology solutions. 

AppleVis is the primary resource for vision-impaired users of Apple products. It is independent, highly valued by the community, and has an established commitment to accessibility advancement and consumer information and empowerment.

 

The American Printing House for the Blind is the world’s largest nonprofit creating educational, workplace, and independent living products and services for the visually-impaired.

 

The San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB) provides services to legally blind adults.  Programs are provided regardless of disability, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, gender or socioeconomic status.

 

IBMilwaukee is a national manufacturer, supplier and distributor dedicated to empowering a passionate and diverse workforce, many of whom are blind or visually impaired.

The Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation is a government-run organization providing vocational rehabilitation services to help people with disabilities.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is a national UK charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people in the UK with sight loss. 

The Jeev Sewa Sansthan Eye Hospital provides integrated eye treatment in the rural areas through free eye camps and base hospital, especially the victims of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy in Bhopal, India

 

The LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) was established as a not-for-profit, non-government eye care institution in 1987. In 2014 LVPEI was ranked in the top 3 best eye hospitals in India.
